Russell Medical Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine recently was recognized with a national award for excellence. Dr. Regina Phillips and her team were honored to receive the 2018 Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award. The center has achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate greater than 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for three consecutive years.
The center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The award is named in honor of Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former chief medical officer for Healogics.
Russell Medical Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine has provided advanced wound care to patients in the surrounding six counties since 2011. By following the nine essential steps of wound healing, the team prides itself on providing quality patient care in a loving and nurturing environment. The team’s vision is that they are the “wound healing expert; driving wound science, healing and prevention forward to help heal more wounds and change lives.”
In 2016, the team was awarded the Center of Distinction by Healogics; and then, received the Center of Excellence in 2017.
“Knowing that we are fulfilling our mission of being committed to advancing wound healing by creating and sharing our wound care expertise: wherever we can, for every patient who would benefit, by the best means available is what motivates me to continue to provide an exceptional patient experience,” said Dr. Phillips.
Program Director Karen Treadwell said she is grateful for the support of the medical community. With more than 75 different referral providers, the Russell Medical Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine clinic is known as the facility to send patients to with non-healing wounds.
