Everything’s Art will host its Second Annual Student Art Competition for all students in grades kindergarten through 12ththat live within the jurisdiction of the Tallapoosa County Board of Education, including home-schooled and special education students and those actively working toward their GEDs.

A total of $1,000 in prizes will be awarded to the top finalists, as well as an overall Best of Show. There will be a raffle and select students who enter the contest also could win art kits.

Finalists’ work will be on display from Jan. 17, 2020, to Jan. 31, 2020, at Raining Dogs Gallery on the Courthouse Square in Dadeville.

The four categories for the contest are kindergarten through second grade; grades third through fifth; grades sixth through eighth; and ninth through 12th grades. The theme is “Expression through Art,” and judging will be based on originality, technical skill and interpretation of the theme.

Artwork can range in medium from painting, drawing, jewelry, pottery, paper maché, Lego blocks, sculpture, etc. A completed application and photos of the finished artwork must be submitted by email by midnight on Dec. 5. An art committee then will announce finalists on Dec. 12.

All artwork must be original, and there is only one entrant allowed per student.
