The Dadeville Beautification Board hosted an Arbor Day poster contest for Mrs. Heitt's, Ms. Mask's, Mrs. Murray's and Mrs. Smith's fifth-grade classrooms at Dadeville Elementary School. There were more than 75 entries and each student won a participation ribbon. At a reception Friday night held at Zazu's Verandah on courthouse square, first, second and third place winners were announced in each of the four classrooms. Cale Hanks from Mrs. Hiett's class was named the overall winner, and his poster will be entered into the Alabama state poster competition. This art activity was a part of the city's 2020 recertification process for Tree City USA, which Dadeville has been certified as for six years.
